Finished Rainbow Birds, almost done with Hope
I am in a finishing mood. :) I bought the rainbow birds kit a few years ago, with the evenweave. Its a beautiful little kit! Heritage Stitch Craft uses unusual half stitches that work so well. You can really see them on the birds faces, and where used a lot in the grasses as well.
This is Hope, by Brooke Nolan, found in the 2011 Annual Halloween issue from Just Cross Stitch. She is really close to being finished..I really like her, she is gorgeous. Beautiful face, and eyes! She will have beads, and a ribbon embellishment (of my own, not whats called for) when complete. I didn't have any of the kreiniks called for. In some cases, I was able to sub for more or less the same color. In other cases I used a DMC match and added pearl blending filament for the sparkle. In place of the dark brown kreinik, I used a dark copper I had left over from a Chatelaine from a few years ago; it goes well with the 433 color used.
Speaking of Chatelaine, I am planning to soon buy Summer Knot Garden, as a file from European Cross Stitch and stitch it up with mostly DMC. I am going to pick out a few silks to use, where I feel I want them most. I will order the beads, and use 28ct white evenweave.
Oooo and that reminds me, I bought Little Miss Paris from ABC Stitch when they had the Online Needlework Show. I CAN"T WAIT to get her!! :)))

So what have I been doing.
Its hard to say for sure, haha. I have started Nora's Tigerlily. i got a good ways with Poppy...I am trying to decide if I want to stitch Alexandra, Golden Girl Apples or Red Skies at Night next. Right now, Red Skies at night it winning, I just wish it wasn't in a book. But everytime i see a WIP or finish of Alexandra, I want her and the same goes for Golden Girl, lol. And I need a new project like I need a broken hand, lol. I drug out the very neglected The Hare and the Postman and am going to do some with him this month. I joined and April Stitch-a-Long group on Facebook, that that is my project.
All of my Pixie Girls in progress:
Nimue, The Hare and the Postman
This is an overlay of Golden Girl on cream fabby. Its what I want to stitch her on.

Odds and Ends from Nora Corbett Poppy, Lilac, etc.
Lilac is such a beauty, and I need to get her finished. She has been in rotation for a couple of years now. I did choose a Silkweaver Solo for her. I thought it was nice and subtle..I am not so much for the dramatic hand dyed's, I like plainer fabrics. I did swap out the greens in her skirt...not the 500's family, the other. I used a silk I had on hand and DMC something, lol. I wanted them to be darker and besides I didn't have those exact colors on hand when I kitted her. :) Lilac is not a whole lot smaller than Meddy Mermaid, but she is less involved especially in beading.
Poppy is AWESOME!!! I love everything about this girl, her cute hair, her gorgeous wings and that red gown. I have spent a few days with her now, and am hoping I don't finish to fast. She is fun to work on. :)) She is on 28ct white jobelan.
Ok, this is Nora's Letter L Fairy, fairy and a little perch for her only. I really liked the fairy, but had no use for the L part really. I decided she would be sweet on her own. I got the frame at The Dollar Tree! You can't beat that! She sits on my stitching table beside me while I stitch every night. She looks like she is holding the next beads that I need. :) I am so happy with how she turned out, frame and all.
Last is my Bluebeard's Princess, finished late last year. She is on the recommended fabric, with all called for materials. She is amazing, so full of color. I had a couple of set backs with her, one being spilling every single packet of beads on the floor at once. I couldn't work on her for sometime after that, lol. I also had problems with her hair, I kept making mistakes. Sometimes I felt like she was one of those cursed projects. ;) But I guess not, she is done and waiting to be framed.

Simply Rose after the weekend :)
I spent a lot of time with this girl on Saturday, none on Sunday though...to much going on with the church Christmas play and of course, church itself. :) But I am so happy with how she is turning out, she was made to be stitched I think. I wanted to take pics at this stage because its such a neat one, I think. This piece is small and could be finished pretty quickly, maybe I can stick to it.

Simply Rose Update
Here she is, coming along gorgeously. :)) I am torn between doing the flower thats on the left, or filling in more of her face. I decided to work on her face last night, may do the flower tonite, lol. But I am anxious to see her nose and mouth...I also want to get all that hair up top finished. At least I have lots that I really want to work on, instead of areas that I am not to interested in. :))
Merry Christmas!!!

Tatty Teddy Finished FINALLY :))
I have worked on this tiny little guy for 3 years..lol. That is, about a week at a time, this time of year, for 3 years. Today, I finished him! He is adorable, to say the least, I love him.
Now, I am moving back to my sweet white haired CCK girl from HAED. I have never finished a HAED and now, this bugs me. ;) I am going to see if maybe I could just stitch her til she's done. Well, we'll see. I have a short attention span. But she is out and ready to go. I am looking forward to spending some time on her. :)
Thank you for visiting!! Merry Christmas!
