Simply Rose after the weekend :)

I spent a lot of time with this girl on Saturday, none on Sunday though...to much going on with the church Christmas play and of course, church itself. :) But I am so happy with how she is turning out, she was made to be stitched I think. I wanted to take pics at this stage because its such a neat one, I think. This piece is small and could be finished pretty quickly, maybe I can stick to it.

Simply Rose Update

Here she is, coming along gorgeously. :)) I am torn between doing the flower thats on the left, or filling in more of her face. I decided to work on her face last night, may do the flower tonite, lol. But I am anxious to see her nose and mouth...I also want to get all that hair up top finished. At least I have lots that I really want to work on, instead of areas that I am not to interested in. :))

Merry Christmas!!!

Tatty Teddy Finished FINALLY :))

I have worked on this tiny little guy for 3 years..lol. That is, about a week at a time, this time of year, for 3 years. Today, I finished him! He is adorable, to say the least, I love him.

Now, I am moving back to my sweet white haired CCK girl from HAED. I have never finished a HAED and now, this bugs me. ;) I am going to see if maybe I could just stitch her til she's done. Well, we'll see. I have a short attention span. But she is out and ready to go. I am looking forward to spending some time on her. :)

Thank you for visiting!! Merry Christmas!

New Project Update

I haven't spent a lot of time with her but here is the progress, she is looking gorgeous!! I liked both these pics so here they are, and last is the HAED site pic..she is Simply Rose. She is a tiny little one and will be easy to do. :)) She is on 22ct gray fabric, perfect color for this design, I think. :))) I love her hair especially!

Update on Hope and progress on my new HAED

With Hope, I have redone the back stitch around her eyes, and it looks much better, like the model pic now. This chart was a pill, there were several errors with it. One of which you can find on the JCS magazine website. The other I spotted after trying to do the BS and realizing something was amiss because mine looks a lot different. But, she is all sorted out now and I don't think there are any issues with her hair. At least, there is no BS in her hair, that's where all the trouble came in.

And here is my new HAED start, with just a few stitches in. I have started in the center. As she grows, I will share more pics..I thought I might not tell you who she is. :)) I am stitching her on 22ct grey fabric because it was the perfect size and color and I had it on hand. What could be better? Also, I had all but 15 f the 91 colors called for. She was meant to be, of course. :)

Thanks for looking!!

Moonlight Immersion HAED update

Here she is!!!

She is a beautiful thing, I do love her. Someone said they were thinking of buying a HAED under my last post...I thought I would let you know that these designs can seem very overwhelming. I do only Quick Stitches myself. I am excited that they are now offering mini's of some of the larger designs, and that you can request the design of your choice be turned into a mini for a fee. These designs, no matter how big or small or very slow going. I am stitching this one on 25ct over one. Usually I use 22ct, over one. Some use 18 or 16 count as well. It all looks great, but gets bigger and bigger. So if you do try one, hang in there!! As you can see, they are well worth it.

Speaking of that, I saw on the Carriage House Sampling's Blog where someone had stitched one of those big designs over one on silk gauze. I thought, DUH! Why didn't I think of that? All this time, my holdup on stitching one of those was the big huge piece of fabric I would need. If I did it on 25st, problem solved. :))) It looks very good too, actually I think it looks better. So I am mulling that over now..maybe I need to get one and go for it. :))

Have a happy weekend! I will be continuing to work ob my sweet girl above, I am in a groove with her. Her kimono is gorgeous, I can't wait to get into the rest of it.

Updates on The Hedgehog and The Old West :))

Here is Mr Hedgehog, partially back stitched..he is so cute! Nimue designs are a bit tough with back stitch..its tedious so I do a bit at a time. As far as the stitching part goes, it moves along quickly. I use magnets and a magnet board to block off what area I want to work on and finish it before I move on to a new area. Soon I will go back to the top and start filling that in.

This is Little House Needlework's Old West! Its very easy to do, I really don't need my magnet board to stitch it. I love love the cowboy! I am excited to do the wagon and catcus in the little scene below him. I am having fun with it. :))

Cowboy closeup:

Right now, I am working on Moonlight Immersion from HAED, Ching-Chou Kuik. I got her out because I was bad and ordered a new HAED CCK chart yesterday, Simply Rose. She is so small though, she really won't make a ruckus in routine I don't think. :)))

Thanks for peeking!! More updates soon, I want to share Moonlight Immersion asap. She is gorgeous!!

progress pics

I have put about 3 nights work into The Hillside Travelers from Little House Needleworks. I am using DMC only, except for the tree, I had enough of that cresent color to do the trees.

This is Happy Jack from the Halloween issue Just Cross Stitch. He is soo colorful!! I love to work on him. He is also done with DMC, and I plan to use some sparklies on him with the teeth and the green spots.

And this is Hope by Brooke Nolan, also from the Just Cross Stitch Halloween issue. She is gorgeous!!! Just a note, the BS on her face is off, but there is a correction chart on the JCS website. I am sorry to say that I emailed Brooke Nolan about that and asked her another question over a week ago and she never got back to me. :( But I still love this beautiful girl, she is lovely.

I fell in love with this kit from Lanarte, Japanese Girl today:

She is pricey so I will be saving her for a Christmas gift. She is done on black, ack!! But I don't care really' I have looked for just the right Japanese or Chinese design to do for a long time and this is it. She is up at ABC Stitch Therapy and AStitching Bits and Bobs and of course the Lanarte site.

I didn't get a thing done on The Hedgehog..:( Hopefully next post will have some good progress. :)

New start, Floss toss and new magazine! :))

First, here is a little more progress on The Hedgehog by Nimue. Its strange to say I love the colors in this when there are so few, but its really beautiful in person. I have the little gnome dude stitched now but he won't look like a gnome til he is backstitched. But, yesterday I got completely distracted from this project with something I found in a magazine. :)))

And this is the magazine...there are actually 3 MUST stitch items in here for me, and several more I would love to do for fun. Mr. Happy Jack you see on the front cover, with the big toothy grin is one of them. I also love the tiny little Acorn House. But there is something else in there I started as soon as I could get the stuff together and settle down last night....

And this is her, Hope by Brooke Nolan. Such a beautiful face!!! She is loaded up with kreiniks, about 6 of them. I am going to use subs, some sparkly some not for her. I had some that were close enough to go with but some I had to replace with DMC and one I replaced with a cresent color. I think she will be gorgeous...

Here is what I got done last night: So far, only called for colors have been used.

Now finally, I went and got fabric and thread for Little House Needleworks, The Hillside Travelers yesterday. I couldn't be happier with the fabric color, thrilled actually. Its of the ivory cream family I suppose but its much richer, perfect! The only one they had too. I am going to use DMC only and I can't wait to see how it comes out. :))

So yesterday was a fun day! My small daughter and I went to Michael's and the pet store then to McDonald's and to get groceries. Then last night we had a picnic with my parents in the forest and let the kids play in the river a while. Finished up by getting to start Hope when I got home. Perfect day!!! :)

Nimue Pieces

I love Nimue designs, whimsical pieces that are usually a challenge to do. I am working on 4 of them right now and have stitched Dust of the Fairy twice. I plan to do her again for myself eventually, but for now I have these :)

This one is called Fairies Coprinus and is a fairy standing on a mushroom(I can only assume that Coprinus is French for mushroom but I have never googled it so not sure, lol) She is LOADED with backstitch! I am doing it as I go along otherwise it will be to much at once.

This sweet Elf is Chippie...I am stitching her on a nice blue as opposed to some shade of brown that most of these call for. With her flowers, its just what she wanted. She is an easy one. Not much backstitch and pretty small.

This is maybe my favorite, and the biggest; The Hare and the Postman. I love the realism of the hare and the details on it. I did not buy the kit (i never do) so when the time comes I will be hunting up my own embellishments for this to make the reins and buckles.

This is the Hedgehog...here we have a little Gnome guy riding the hedgehog with his house on its back and a bird hitching a ride. I only have about 4 hours in this so far so its coming along fast. I love the colors!! I plan to look for something to replace the little bells at the craft store.

I pulled this one, Rainbow Birds by Valarie Pfieffer out of my craft box a few weeks ago and have put quite a few hours in it. They are so cute, I cam enjoying stitching each bird, but not looking forward to the grass. ;))

I am kitting up a new one, The Hillside Travelers by Little House Needleworks. I got an irresistible urge to stitch a piece with little houses in it. I am not brave enough to try out a Carriage House piece yet, but I am working up to it i think. I really like the new Farm's of Hawk Run Hollow:
http://carriagehousesamplings.blogspot.com/2011/08/finally-farms-of-hawk-run-hollow-blocks.html

Its great, I like every single block on it. Especially for some reason the apple butter one. :))

Tomorrow is September, wow! I think that's why I am in such a stitchy mood. Fall makes me want to be creative. I am so blessed to have so many great pieces to work on.

Blue Beard's Princess done!

I haven't been stitching a lot lately, it comes and goes at times. I am hoping to get back into it this week. I need to, its better for me than facebook games! Right now, I am trying to pick out which one I want to work on.
